Thursday April 7 I was on my way to work at 6:30am and I was thinking about what you had said on Sunday about trusting God and be giving, basically all about Illuminate! I only had $14 to my name and I was not part of the Bless Back Project the Sunday before, we missed that service and I really wished that I could have been part of it, so I thought I would just go for it! I stopped at McDonald’s to buy 11 fruit yogurt cups which cost 99 cents each to give away to my co-workers at the elementary school that I work at and I wanted to keep $3 for myself for lunch.
When I got to the register I told the girl behind the counter that I needed some fruit cups and she asked “how many do you need?” and I asked “how many do you have?” She replied “fourteen” I started to say give me 11 because I wanted to eat lunch but then I thought about Illuminate and I said give me all 14. When I got to work, I started my mission on giving out the fruit cups, I have always been a very giving person, but this time it was different, as I handed each fruit cup to my co-workers I prayed for them and almost every person asked me why I was doing such a kind act I was able to share with them that my act of kindness was from the love of Jesus.
I told them that Jesus loves us so much and that was my way of sharing his love. It literally brought tears to some of their eyes. It was awesome! Now when I got down to the last fruit cup I thought about keeping it for myself since I had no money for lunch but God put it on me to trust him for my needs and give it away too, so I did.
About an hour later one of my friends was stressed out because he committed himself to make a carrot cake and bring it in the following day for a big cowboy lunch that we were having for our 4th graders and he felt that he just didn’t have the time to make it so God put it on my heart to tell him that I would take care of it for him. I thought to myself “what are you doing, you have no more money” but I trusted my Lord and went with it.
And to top things off it was my daughters B-day. I did not know if she was even she going to get a cake but I had Faith.
Then the blessings starting rolling in! One of my friends bought me Chinese for lunch and she was not one of the ones that got a fruit cup. Then when I got home, my son received a check in the mail that he had been waiting for and was able to pay me $800 that he owed me. My family went out to dinner to celebrate Faith’s B-day and then I did not want to stop there, so after dinner I went to HEB and bought $60 worth of groceries and made 2 carrot cakes, 2 blueberry ice box pies, a huge pot of home made chili, crackers, and a container of sweet tea. I was able to bless the entire staff and faculty with lunch. It was great to be able to share my blessings with others.
I know that all the glory goes to God but I am thankful that He uses Revolution Church to motivate, encourage, and bless so many lives.
Sincerely, Gina Tabbert
