Bible Ceremony

Zak and Connie placed a Bible under some plastic at the entrance to the sanctuary and children’s worship areas.  As adults and children enter into their areas of worship, they will literally be crossing over the word of God.  Thirty members split into two groups and prayed for the church, the build-out timeline and for the people that will be ministered to at the church.  Later today, cement was poured into the trench and the Bibles became a permanent fixture of the church.

Tucson!

Greetings to you from Tucson!

First let me apologize for taking so long to send this e-mail. I was visiting my family (Angela, my daughter and Armando Alvarado, my son-inlaw). I was invited to go to church with them. She said, mom, just to let you know, it is different from the type of church you are used to. I told her it didn’t matter. Worship is expressed in many different ways. I was very impressed with what you, the pastor, did in obedience to the Lord. I have never in all my 18 yrs. of being saved and attending a variety of churches, have I ever seen what you did. Give away all your finances. This really touched my heart as I know how hard it must have been for you to go through with this action. God knows how to put our trust in Him to the test! Well, I had picked an envelope with $20 and when I got back home to Tucson and went to my own church, there was a blind man standing across the parking lot with his dog, and I put the $20 in his bucket. I asked my husband if it was alright if we sent your church $100 so that the $20 that we got could be multiplied 5 times. I was blessed with my visit to your church. May our Father continue to grow His church through you and use you, your wife and ministry to glorify Him! Be blessed!

Teens and Drugs

This past Saturday morning, I went to Walmart to get a couple things. As I was walking in I noticed a table set up outside with a bunch of wooden crosses and other little things. I figured I would check it out on my way out. Well I got what I needed at Walmart and checked out. As I was walking outside I made eye contact with one of the guys who looked my age that was helping with the table. He nicely asked me if I would like to donate money for their organization. He told me the name of it and I just kinda looked at him confused. He asked if I had heard about it. I told him no I haven’t. So he started telling me about it. It is an organization that helps kids/teens who have suffered with drugs and other problems. BUT the organization helps the kids/teens in a Godly way, which is amazing! The guy and I talked some more. He told me he was from Washington. I was shocked because its kinda far. He told me he came to Texas because he knew if he stayed in Washington it was easier to give up and go home and go back to his old ways. He told me it has been really tough but he is getting through it. I ended up giving him $4 dollars. He said thank you and God bless. Then I went to my car to leave. As I was I was driving off I thought about the Bless Back Project which I still hadn’t done. I called my little sister because me and her combined our money for a total of $15 dollars. I told her about the guy I met and what their organization was for and asked her if she if we should give them the Bless Back money. She immediatly said YES! So I drove back to Walmart and decided to go buy something else so it made it look like I forgot something. As I walked back in the guy smiled at me. I finished up at Walmart and went back outside. It was a different guy collecting money this time. I looked at the table and bought a $5 dollar handmade Cross keychain. Then I walked up to the other guy collecting money and told him about our Bless Back Project and about our church. I put the $15 dollars in the bucket and he handed me a little neon orange paper about the organization and told me thanks for everything and if i knew anyone that needed help to call there organization. Anyways I called my sister and told her all about what happened and she was very excited about it :) I really enjoyed doing this Bless Back Project and getting to use a little bit of my own money to contribute to it. I plan to continue doing this when im out and about with my own money to continue blessing our community. :)

What are you doing? You have no money…

Thursday April 7  I was on my way to work at 6:30am and I was thinking about what you had said on Sunday about trusting God and be giving, basically all about Illuminate! I only had $14 to my name and I was not part of the Bless Back Project the Sunday before, we missed that service and I really wished that I could have been part of it, so I thought I would just go for it! I stopped at McDonald’s to buy 11 fruit yogurt cups which cost 99 cents each to give away to my co-workers at the elementary school that I work at and I wanted to keep $3 for myself for lunch.

When I got to the register I told the girl behind the counter that I needed some fruit cups and she asked “how many do you need?” and I asked “how many do you have?” She replied “fourteen” I started to say give me 11 because I wanted to eat lunch but then I thought about Illuminate and I said give me all 14. When I got to work, I started my mission on giving out the fruit cups, I have always been a very giving person, but this time it was different, as I handed each fruit cup to my co-workers I prayed for them and almost every person asked me why I was doing such a kind act I was able to share with them that my act of kindness was from the love of Jesus.

I told them that Jesus loves us so much and that was my way of sharing his love. It literally brought tears to some of their eyes. It was awesome! Now when I got down to the last fruit cup I thought about keeping it for myself since I had no money for lunch but God put it on me to trust him for my needs and give it away too, so I did.

About an hour later one of my friends was stressed out because he committed himself to make a carrot cake and bring it in the following day for a big cowboy lunch that we were having for our 4th graders and he felt that he just didn’t have the time to make it so God put it on my heart to tell him that I would take care of it for him. I thought to myself “what are you doing, you have no more money” but I trusted my Lord and went with it.

And to top things off it was my daughters B-day. I did not know if she was even she going to get a cake but I had Faith.

Then the blessings starting rolling in! One of my friends bought me Chinese for lunch and she was not one of the ones that got a fruit cup. Then when I got home, my son received a check in the mail that he had been waiting for and was able to pay me $800 that he owed me. My family went out to dinner to celebrate Faith’s B-day and then I did not want to stop there, so after dinner I went to HEB and bought $60 worth of groceries and made 2 carrot cakes, 2 blueberry ice box pies, a huge pot of home made chili, crackers, and a container of sweet tea. I was able to bless the entire staff and faculty with lunch. It was great to be able to share my blessings with others.

I know that all the glory goes to God but I am thankful that He uses Revolution Church to motivate, encourage, and bless so many lives.

Sincerely, Gina Tabbert
